Sausage Jambalaya with Corn and Peppers

The Only Meal You Need to Make This Winter.

Blayne Macauley March 3, 2015

A few months ago I got this jambalaya recipe as my weekly Garnish & Gather meal and shared it with my family.  It's quickly become our favorite and a staple meal at our house.  Family members request it when they come over for dinner.  It's quick and easy to make.

To be 100% honest with you guys, I made it last night for my weekly bachelor viewing party.  I tripled the recipe so I would have plenty to photograph for you this morning, and it was almost all gone!  This is about a half a cup, and I had to use all my best photography skills to get this picture!  I'm sad I don't have leftovers for lunch, but I'm sure I'll make it again next week ;)

Spotlight on Emily Golub, Founder of Garnish & Gather

Blayne Macauley February 17, 2015

If you are a regular TPL reader, you know my obsession with Garnish & Gather.  I'm a long time subscriber of the food and recipe delivery service, and I believe it's the best one available in Atlanta.  I found out about Garnish & Gather at the Peachtree Road Farmers Market one Saturday morning right after Oliver was born.  Emily was standing next to a chalk board with the weekly menus, and we struck up a conversation.  Since then we've gotten to know each other a little better, and I've become a huge fan of her work and company!  I asked if I could pick her brain about owning a business, her success, and the Atlanta food scene.

Good Luck Soup: The Best Black Eyed Peas and Collard Greens You've Ever Tasted!

Blayne Macauley January 6, 2015

Those of us from the South know Black Eyed Peas and Collard Greens can be enjoyed year round, not just at New Year's.  I've enjoyed them with my family all months of the year, but it's especially fun around Jan 1st when you believe stuffing your face with them will bring you money and good luck in the coming year.

Those of you who are regular TPL readers (thank you!) know that I adore Garnish & Gather (seenhere and here).  Garnish & Gather is a service that sources local items from farms and gives you everything you need to make the featured meal that week. This week's recipe by Chef Nick Melvin is called "Good Luck Soup with Bacon, Collards & Black Eyed Peas," and it is delicious. Emily Golub, the founder of G & G, gave me permission to start featuring some of the meals on here, and I am so excited!  What an awesome treat for you guys!  The food is as good as any restaurant food, and you can make it at home.  Holla.

Without further ado, I give you "Good Luck Soup."
