10 Questions: Clary Bosbyshell

Blayne Macauley January 8, 2015

Welcome to my new weekly feature 10 Questions.  This series will profile talents Southerners and ask them 10 Questions about their daily lives and life in their city.

Clary Bosbyshell Froeba is up first.  Full disclosure (because I'm really into that this week) Clary is my friend.  She's one of those people I knew by reputation and weaseled my way into being her friend-- total girl crush style  Why?  She's awesome and the epitome of Stylish Atlanta.  She always looks effortlessly chic.  This seems like an outpouring of her unparalleled talent as an interior designer.  She was born into it!  He mom is famous Atlanta Interior Designer Margret Bosbyshell (famous on this blog for designing my favorite house in Atlanta). They are an impressive team and seem to have their fingers on the pulse of classic Atlanta style with a modern twist.  Clary is a mom as well, and pulls it off with such ease a grace.  Her son Rayfe is just as cute as they come, and with the purchase of their beautiful new home, Clary and her husband are on top of the world right now!

Modern/Graphic/Designer Garden Hills Home SOLD by Janey Lowe!

Blayne Macauley January 7, 2015

I shot 2621 Brookwood for Janey Lowe of the Lowe Baumann Group at Beacham & Company when I was about 8 months pregnant.  Somehow in all the hustle and bustle of welcoming O into the world, I forgot to put it on the blog! I was so struck by it while I was shooting it, and wanted to make sure you guys got a chance to see it.  Even though Janey already sold the home, she agreed to let me feature it.

From the moment I walked in, there was a certain vibe about the house.  They were not afraid to take risks. Everywhere from the bicycle wheel art instillation in the pool table room, to the graphic wallpaper on the ceiling in the powder room, to the western fireplace in the master - this house was cool!  I really fell in love with the kitchen.  The owner was an avid chef, so everything was streamlined and clean and perfect for prepping delicious meals. This is one of the most unique homes I've seen in Atlanta.  Enjoy, and don't forget to pin images for inspiration later!

Good Luck Soup: The Best Black Eyed Peas and Collard Greens You've Ever Tasted!

Blayne Macauley January 6, 2015

Those of us from the South know Black Eyed Peas and Collard Greens can be enjoyed year round, not just at New Year's.  I've enjoyed them with my family all months of the year, but it's especially fun around Jan 1st when you believe stuffing your face with them will bring you money and good luck in the coming year.

Those of you who are regular TPL readers (thank you!) know that I adore Garnish & Gather (seenhere and here).  Garnish & Gather is a service that sources local items from farms and gives you everything you need to make the featured meal that week. This week's recipe by Chef Nick Melvin is called "Good Luck Soup with Bacon, Collards & Black Eyed Peas," and it is delicious. Emily Golub, the founder of G & G, gave me permission to start featuring some of the meals on here, and I am so excited!  What an awesome treat for you guys!  The food is as good as any restaurant food, and you can make it at home.  Holla.

Without further ado, I give you "Good Luck Soup."
