Why I love Atlanta in the Summer
Atlanta is such a fun place to live… especially in the Summer!
There are so many fun outdoor events. A few weeks Laura Green and Laura Hayes and I went to see Jonny Lang at the Atlanta Botanical Gardens. If you are not a Jonny Lang fan you should be…. he is like John Mayer, if John mayer wasn’t so poppy… and hadn’t sold out… wait, did I say that?
The Botanical Gardens is an amazing place to see live music. They set it all up on the main lawn. You can take lawn chairs and buy bottles of wine on ice. Let’s be honest… isn’t that half the fun? I think the Indigo Girls are playing there soon, which is something I would love to see.
Another fun place to see live music is at Chastain Park Amphitheater. A few weeks ago we went to see B.B. King there. It was so fun! The acoustics are wonderful. There are a ton of events coming up, and you should try to see a few if you can.
And finally there is Screen on The Green. The event takes place at Piedmont Park. I went last week, and they were showing The Birds. Have you ever seen that movie? So much screeching… all the time… and then they pecked that poor woman’s eyes out! It was just too much!
It was a fun time though, and I am excited to go back tonight! The movie is Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. #love
FYI. I was in the play in Junior High. I was an Oompa Loompa. Duh. Clearly I did not show as much theatrical promise as my friends. I think I maybe had 2 lines, and when I said them the director stopped the play and told me I was speaking too slowly. #fail.
The girl in the photo above (my friend Lindley) played Violet Beauregarde. She was hysterical. She had to chew all this gum…. and remember when they said “violet, you’re turning violet violet!” #sofunny. She is such a ham.
And my other friend, Sarah Beasley Mount, played Veruca Salt. Awesome! She was so bossy. I mean… she just really wanted those golden eggs 
Anyway… I think the three of us might try to meet up at the movie tonight just for old times sake…. Why? because Atlanta gives you the opportunity to spend time with your friends outdoors doing fun things! :)
