… but first you have to read about this house. :)

I am honestly obsessed with this house.  I saw it on caravan last year, and it quickly moved onto my favorite houses in Atlanta list.  Don’t you all have one of those? :)

Front

Glennis Beacham listed 541 King Road last week.  One of my favorite things about this house is that it’s beautiful yet unassuming from the front.  It almost looks like it could be located in Kingswood, but it is located off of Northside Drive near Valley Road and Blackland Road in Tuxedo Park.

Let’s take a little tour through the house…

entryway

Main entryway into study.  Those arched double front doors really set the tone for the house.

Living room 1

Formal living room.

Dining Room

Dining room.  Joy and I loved the chairs!

Living room detail

Family room detail.  Check out how beautiful the stair railings are!

Living room 2

Family room into kitchen.  I don’t think I have ever seen a better family room.

Ceiling

Family room ceiling detail.  I love those chandeliers contrasted with the beams, and the window allows for tons of natural light.

Kitchen

Here we are in my favorite part of the house.  Can you believe this kitchen?  My jaw dropped the first time I walked in here.  I love that the beams tie in from the family room and it opens to the porch.  The black framed windows create an almost industrial feel, while the beams keep it very natural.

Morning Bar

This is the other side of the kitchen, which is also breathtaking.  I love the space for the sink and all the beautiful storage options.

in to kitchen through door

Isn’t that a great stove?  Have you ever seen anything like that spice rack?  The tv is also perfectly hidden in the cabinets.  I got a TV for my kitchen a few years ago and have really enjoyed catching up on my shows while I make dinner.

porch 2

Brick floors and skylights should be requirements for every porch!

Porch

As I always say, I could spend a lot of time out here with a glass of wine…  I say that way too much, but now that Spring is Springing I am craving being outside.

Down hallway to study

View from kitchen down to the study.  Mexican tiles always warm my heart.  They are not nearly prevalent enough here in Atlanta

master bath

Aren’t the colors in the master bath beautiful?  It almost looks like a hotel bath.  Hint Hint.

bathroom cabinets

Double vanities.

This is the view from the back of the house out to the pool.  Doesn’t it feel like you are at a resort?  Hint Hint.

I loved this photo peaking into the guest house.

And the interior of the guest house.  I could absolutely live here!

And then we end with the beautiful back of the home.  Doesn’t this just make you want to go on vacation?

Speaking of vacations, wouldn’t you like to win a free night’s stay at the Four Seasons Atlanta?  I have a huge affinity for the hotel…  You all may know from this post that I was not much of a hotel lover until I met Jimmy.  Jimmy happens to work at the Four Seasons, so I have gotten fairly familiar with the hotels.  THEY ARE AMAZING.  Best girlfriend perk EVER.  Second best girlfriend perk?  Begging him to let me share the experience with you guys and him saying yes!  YEA!!!

So… one of you lucky readers will get a free weekend night in the Midtown Atlanta Four Seasons.  I know.  I am so good to you.

Screen Shot 2012-02-28 at 1.54.09 PM

You will get to pick your own weekend night.  Whenever you want!  (Jimmy is going to line this up for you.  There may be a few dates that won’t work, but he will work hard to let you stay the night you pick!)  You also get to have brunch on us (up to $50)!  What could be better that that?

Screen Shot 2012-02-28 at 1.53.53 PM

Anything you spend over the room rate and brunch you will be responsible for, but Beacham & Company is picking up the tab for everything else?  How excited are you??  Very?

Ok ok, so how do you win?

Just follow these two steps.  (You have to complete both steps to be eligible.)

1. Go to Beacham & Company’s Facebook page.  ”Like it.” (You can still enter if you have already like Beacham & Company)  Write on the wall, “Four Seasons.”

2. Share a link to this page on Facebook.  The easiest way to do that is to go to the bottom of this post under “Did you like this?  Share it” and click the facebook square.  It is the one with the “f” on it. (not the button that says “like” — sorry, I know that’s confusing)

That’s it!  You’re finished!

The contest ends Sunday, March 4th at Midnight.  The winner will be announced on Monday morning.  I will contact you to work out the details.

Good luck everybody!  If you have any questions about this contest, please email me.  email hidden; JavaScript is required

  5. I love this house – I have posted the exterior on my blog several times. It has such a pleasing look to it – great proportions, great materials, beautiful color scheme and the landscaping is wonderful. In fact, Alec from LandPlus took me to the house when we were picking our pool color and decking materials – it was my favorite of the three houses he showed me!

Also, you should have any potential client drive by at night. The landscape lighting is really incredible – subtle and very well done. I am working on landscape lighting for my house, so have been analyzing this topic quite a bit!

This is an incredible price for the quality of the house, the location, the whole package. I would love to have a guest house like that!

Blayne, I love the photos of King Road! They are so nice I forwarded your whole blog to my client who “should” buy this house. It has everything he wants, including a pool. I think your extra pics along with your comments might bring him around. It’s a stunning house – I can’t wait to see it in person.
P.S. Loved the photos of Nan’s home in Serenbe, too….and the horses.
