Holiday Cheer: NYE Dress, The Best Christmas Decorations, Check Out My Tree!
Jingle Bells, Batman Smells… it’s Christmas time kids!
I have a few holiday-related things for you, so watch out! First… TOTALLY selfish. I’m looking for a New Year’s dress. Jimmy and I are going to NYC for NYE!! I am really looking forward to it. I haven’t been to NYC since junior year of college… so ages ago! We may or may not be going to Phish New Years at Madison Square Garden. I’ll let you come to your own conclusion, but let’s say we are going, just for argument’s sake. Well, I clearly need a very special dress. One that says, “It’s my first new years with my awesome boyfriend,” while also saying, “I’m so cool I totally didn’t over-think this,” and finally, “DANCE PARTY.” That’s a pretty tall order, don’t you think? I spent my free time Monday looking for a few fitting frocks (see what I did there?), and here’s what I found.

So beautiful. I would wear the one on the right in a New York Minute, but silly Pinterest (follow me!!) would not take me to a link where I could hit “charge it to my credit card. I don’t care what it costs!”
Had to move on…
Sold out! Darn the luck.
Free People… my true love/worst enemy. If I had an extra $525/kidney I would buy this dress. FOR SURE.
And finally… my favorite dress I’ve seen this year. I think it was made just for me. Free People strikes again… at $700. Ugh. Who wants to buy one of my pieces of art so I can buy this dress? (You can check out the art here if you’re at all interested… don’t all click it at once.)
Just so I have a back up (holding out for the Free People one, duh.), I ordered this $60 beauty from ASOS, a very cool website I found in my search. Let’s keep our fingers crossed it fits/looks more like a $700 dress than a $60 dress. I will report back on the quality. If it fits I will probably sport this to our Christmas party and NYE. I’m on a budget and will dodge cameras. Shhh… don’t tell anybody.
Next topic? Christmas decorations. I photographed this house a few weeks ago (before Thanksgiving) and was AMAZED by the Christmas decorations. I have never seen anything like them outside of… well… they’re the best I’ve ever seen. Address: 910 Accipter Way Agent: Becky Hughes
Have you ever seen anything like it? I was amazed! It was like walking into Santa’s workshop! Some people may let that intimidate them, but not me! Glennis and I hopped right up on the Friday after Thanksgiving and scurried over to Home Depot to grab two trees (one for her and one for me). Jimmy and I set to decorating it on Monday (had to wait for the limbs to fall… obvi).

Jimmy gets started untangling the lights with the best of intentions…

…gets confused as to whether the lights need to start at the top or the bottom… calls his mom/dad and grabs a beer for clarification…

Putting the star on the top of the tree after we ornamented…

All finished!
I hope you all have a wonderful Holiday season!
